ARE YOU ELIGIBLE...
Charities and Not-for-Profit Organizations.
The charity or not-for-profit organizations are nominated by the members or individuals within the community and must be in good standing with CRA. To be eligible to receive the members' donations the organization must be able to issue an official donation receipt that meets the requirements of the Income Tax Act and its Regulations and must serve the Lloydminster area.
The organization must be able to provide a brief summary to the core team of volunteers of how the donations will be spent within our local community in order to be eligible to present at a meeting.
If your organization is selected you will be expected to prepare a brief presentation (5-10 mins) for our members at the upcoming meeting. Presentations can be verbal or in the form of a PowerPoint presentation. The presentation should include a description of the organizations operations and specify what the funds will be used for. At the end of each presentation the members will be provided with time to ask questions to aid in casting their vote.
Each member in attendance of the meeting will cast their vote, majority wins. Members who did not vote for the selected organization have agreed to make their donation regardless of their vote.
The organization that receives our donations will be asked to return and provide an update during our next meeting prior to the presentations of our next lucky organizations.
100 DOLLARS PER MEETING 4 TIMES A YEAR.
