The group consists of community minded men and women who want to help their

community in a big way.  100 is just a number, there are no limitations to the membership.

Together we learn more about local charities or not-for-profit organizations and a simple

majority vote will determine who receives our donations, $100 per member.

We support our local community and are interested in being part of a powerful group

having an immediate, direct and positive impact.

 

How We Work

  • By becoming a member you are making a commitment to donate $100 per meeting, four times per year to a different organization each meeting.  Meetings are diligently conducted in one hour.
  • The charity or not-for-profit organizations are nominated by members or individuals within the community and must be in good standing. To be eligible to receive the members' donations the organization must be able to issue an official donation receipt that meets the requirements of the Income Tax Act and its Regulations.
  • Ahead of each meeting two organizations are chosen by the core team of volunteers from the database of nominated organizations.  Each organization is then invited to present at our quarterly meeting.  Members will not know which organizations are presenting until they arrive at the meeting.
  • Each member who has signed a Commitment Form and who is current with his/her donations may vote (by ballot) for one of the organizations that presented.
  • Each member will arrive at the meeting with a blank cheque for $100 for the organization that receives the majority vote.  Members who did not vote for the selected organization agree to make their donation regardless of their vote.  In the event of a tie a coin toss will decide who receives the funds.
  • Members who cannot attend the meeting must ensure their blank cheque (in a sealed envelope) reaches their 'buddy' or the meeting organizers before the meeting starts.
  • Members will receive a tax deductible receipt directly from the selected organization.  Note: donations made directly to the recipient charity and online donations do not count towards your commitment - only cheques handed in to 100 Men Lloydminster count.
  • The 100 Men of Lloydminster has no organization or administrative costs, which means your donation goes directly to the local charity or not-for-profit organization.
